Apache Sandesha is an implementation of WS-ReliableMessaging protocol on top of Apache Axis -- the next generation SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) -- that provides extensive support for Web services. As the software industry moves towards Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) promoting the connectivity of many heterogeneous systems to provide enterprise solutions, Web services will play a major role in this movement, and the base for this connectivity will mainly lie on the messages that they interchange.
